KUMARGRAM DUAR SOCIAL WELFARE ORGANIZATION is a rural based registered organization by an for people. Despite the many ups and downs it has pulled on with real and favour to serve the disadvantaged, underprivileged, poor and needy women. Inspite of our limitation, (especially lack of fund) our journey has not been smooth if not it was supported by the whole hearted participation and cooperation from the community as well as from other partners (agencies) have helped a lot to sustain the activities. The year 2015 – 2016 has been quite promising and at the same time strenuous effort has to be made during this period to mobilize resources to sustain the activities. But empower those, who have remained on the fringe of the so-called development. Our effort would have ended up in smoke, had not there been whole hearted co-operation from the well wishers, members, beneficiaries and donor agencies. So, we take this occasion to extend our heartfelt gratitude to one and all, who, in what ever capacity, might have contribution one’s mite to sustain our noble endeavour. We earnestly hope the coming year will be fruitful and meaningful.

BACKGROUND OF THE ORGANIZATION
The very idea of Kumargram Duar Social Welfare Organization has emerged from self-sufficient village economy encouraged by a group of youth. A group of youth was working in the village for a new constructive movement for social change. Later they decided to establish the Kumargran Duar Social Welfare Organization in the year 2010, 17th March. Thus Kumargram Duar Social Welfare Organization came into being. A state body of Kumargram Duar Social Welfare Organization was formed. Kumargram Duar Social Welfare Organization is a non-profit, non-party voluntary Organization registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1961.

This is an opportunity to view and review – where we stand. The period under review has been experienced by us with many odds and difficulities as well as scopes and opportunities to serve our target groups / beneficiaries and to be with the people and community members in their struggles and suffering.
The Organization was started not like other youth clubs but with a social commitment for the rural poor and marginalized sections of people for their development by their participation.
Some social activities with some goods practices by themselves tried to motivate other to develop themselves by their initiatives and good practices to create favorable social environment to feel for others and accordingly.
Thus from the beginning the organization slowly took shape to cater its services for the people in need to upgrade unfolding their hopes and aspirations.
We have learned many things from the people through participatory learning process. We have gained experiences to make ourselves prepared to be good service provider. Whatever we have achieved. We have achieved by the participation of the people.
